What happens to a log you upload

In short: uploading publishes the flight. Here is exactly what that means.

The flight page is public

Every uploaded log gets its own page with the chart, the figures and the settings the altimeter was flying with. Anyone with the link can open it, signed in or not, and it may also appear in flight lists, competition tables and search engines.

What is published

The measurements in the file, the times, the device serial or identifier, and the settings. Any name or competitor tag you have given the altimeter is shown with the flight. Your email address and account details are not published, and we do not sell your data or use the log for advertising.

Location

A log holds no position unless your altimeter recorded GPS. If it did, the launch position is part of the flight and will be shown. Do not upload a GPS log if you would rather the launch site stayed private.

What you are giving us

By uploading a log you give us permission to store it, publish it and show it in flight pages, flight lists, competition results, comparisons and our own material, with no time limit and no payment either way. You keep your own copy of the file and can do whatever you like with it. We may keep and publish the flight for as long as we choose, including after you close your account. If you want a log taken down, email info@modelrockets.co.uk and ask. We will not unreasonably refuse.

Your choices

This tick is your consent, and it is the basis on which we publish and keep the flight. You can remove a flight from your account at any time. Taking a flight down, or taking out the launch position or personal details that ended up inside the data itself such as a name or an address, you can request by emailing info@modelrockets.co.uk, and we will not unreasonably refuse. If you are in the UK or the EU you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent and complain to your data protection authority; if you are in the US, the same access and deletion requests apply wherever your state gives you the right. Nothing here takes away a right you have by law.

Please keep personal details out of it

Device names, competitor tags and file names are published as they are, so do not put anything in them you would not want public.

Add an altimeter

Pick the model, then give it a name so you can choose it next time. The serial is optional and is only ever shown to you.

Hoe werkt verificatie?

Elke Nano genereert een cryptografische handtekening. Onze server controleert deze. Als ze niet overeenkomen, wordt de log afgewezen.

Need a CSV from an ACLZ?

Upload either format and you can download both. An ACLZ holds exactly the same flight as the CSV in a fraction of the space, so this page doubles as a converter in both directions: send an ACLZ and take the CSV away, or send a CSV and get an ACLZ back.
