Our new SAM-M10Q Expansion boards are perfect for ensuring reliable position data during your flight and recovery after landing.
It is often a problem where by GNSS/GPS modules only work well, if at all, in one orientation facing the sky. It's hard to be sure which way your antenna will land and you could lose signal.
By adding a second GNSS to your Jupiter via one of the 4 expansion ports you can orient another antenna in a different direction to ensure you should always have one operational.
The expansion board also benefits from a larger ground plane than the onboard GNSS offering improved signal performance on top.
It measures 37mm in length and 28mm wide.
This allows you to use it in 29mm rockets at a slight angle, or at any orientation in a 38mm rocket and above.
Our expansion ports use tiny 1mm pitch Molex Pico Lock connectors, these securely clip in so won't come loose during your flight.
Just plug it in, configure it in the Jupiters settings and you're ready to go.
The Jupiter will seed the module with up to date orbit data to ensure a quick and reliable fix even from a cold start.
You can also add a optional backup battery to the board on the rear side, although it's not really needed when using it with a Jupiter with the seed data.
